The Economics Association of Zambia paid a courtesy call on ZICTA Director General, Mr. Patrick Mutimushi, ahead of the EAZ 2019  National Economic Summit to be held at Avani Pleasure Resort in Livingstone. The Director General was in the company of Mr Mulenga Chisanga - Director Economic Regulations - and Mr. Bernard Banda who is the Manager Economic Regulations.

Further, Mr. Mutimushi applauded the EAZ Board for making efforts to invite two serving presidents - His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa  Lungu and His Excellency, President Uhuru Kenyatta; and  three former presidents - His Excellencies Thabo Mbeki, Jakaya Kikwete and Rupiah Banda to the National Economic Summit.

The Director General was extremely impressed with EAZ repositioning of itself and it's immense contribution to Zambias economic development. 
Further, the 

ZICTA have pledged to participate at the Summit and expressed keen interest in collaborative efforts alongside EAZ to promote economic discourse amongst key stakeholders. Further, the The Director General,  offered to secure free internet provision at the National Economic Summit by one of the  Internet Service Providers that ZICTA is in collaboration with.

And the EAZ Vice-President, Dr. Austin Mwange, thanked ZICTA for being a bonafide member of EAZ and supporting EAZ Members working for  ZICTA. Dr. Mwange invited ZICTA to take part in both the academic sessions and panel discussions of the National Economic Summit. 

Dr Mwange informed the ZICTA  DG  that an EAZ team was led by the EAZ President, Dr.Lubinda Haabazoka, was in Tanzania to physically deliver the invitation letter for the former President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Mr. Jakaya Kikwete as one of the key speakers. 

Furthermore, The EAZ Copperbelt Chapter Chairperson, Mr. Matthews Muyembe gave an explanation of the rationale of the EAZ National Economic Summit and explained how far the preparations have reached.
