President of the World Agriculture Organisation(WAO), Dr Theo de Jager is leading commercial farmers to the Zambia's 2019 Economic Summit
Dr. de Jager who is also the Executive Board chairman of the Southern African Agri Initiative (SAAI) Saai, explained that the Summit will help bring in large-scale investment in Zambia.
He said this when he held sideline meetings with Minister of Commerce Trade and Industry Hon. Christopher Yaluma and Zambia's ambassador to Ethiopia and Permanent Representative to the African Union(AU) His Excellency Emmanuel Mwamba.
He said he had brought a team of 8 commercial farmers to participate and seek investment opportunities that Zambia's agriculture sector offered.
And Hon. Yaluma stated that Zambia was targeting in treatment in the agriculture and agro-processing sub-sectors.
He encouraged Dr. De Jager to partner with small scale farmers and cooperatives to ensure that the investment was meaningful to the local people.
The Economic Association of Zambia(EAZ) is hosting an inaugural economic summit in Livingstone.
