Kenya Endorses The 2019 EAZ National Economic Summit
We had a very fruitful meeting yesterday with Her Excellency the Kenyan High Commissioner to Zambia Sophy K. Kombe at the Kenyan High Commission in Zambia.
We discussed a lot of issues among which is the strong historical ties between our two nations. We also discussed the need to enhance trade and investments between the two countries.
Kenya is a major destination for our products like sugar. The East African economic giant has a lot to offer in terms of expertise in tourism, agriculture, education and other sectors. Zambia has potential to supply power to Kenya using existing infrastructure and development of more.
Kenya will be well represented at the Economic Summit with meetings lined up for investors and business people.
The Association has engaged the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, ZDA and other stakeholders to help bring more businesses to the Summit. We expect MoUs to be signed and bridges built between businesses.
The meeting was attended by EAZ President Dr Lubinda Haabazoka, Board member in charge of Finance and communication Mr Lubinda Sinyani, Executive Director Ms Mirriam Nachilima and Director communications Tendai Ponsiano.
The meeting was held ahead the National Economic Summit to be held in Livingstone in July 25-26 2019.
