EAZ Meets The Chinese Business Community In Zambia
Lusaka, 19 May 2019
Today we were privileged to speak to Representatives of Chinese businesses in Zambia at an event organised by the Association of Chinese Corporations in Zambia. ACCZ has over 60 Chinese member companies.
The event saw EAZ President Dr Lubinda Haabazoka present on the topic “Zambia's Economic Performance, and it impacts on foreign companies, particularly the Chinese Companies”.
We assured our colleagues of Zambia’s long term bright future amid strong economic foundations. We also explained the safety of foreign investments in Zambia.
We advised our partners to encourage Chinese companies to set up motor vehicle assembly plants in Zambia and other high tech companies to create employment for locals.
The event saw stakeholders come to a consensus that Zambia is strategically located with the potential to become a hub for a thriving manufacturing industry that can supply goods to neighbouring countries.
EAZ continues to engage both internal and external stakeholders to enhance national economic development.
We were assured of participation by Chinese businesses at the upcoming National Economic Summit in July.
The Summit will be graced by HE The Republican President Mr Edgar Chagwa Lungu.
The event promises to be the best organised in Zambia.
Interventions will be proposed to enhance National Economic development with a steering committee created to monitor the progress of implementing such interventions.
